“Over the course of my presidency, our recovery has now created 7.9 million jobs—more jobs created over the first 14 months of any presidency in any term ever.” – President Joe Biden
Today’s jobs report numbers are huge news: 431,000 jobs were created in just the past month, bringing the total for Joe Biden’s presidency to 7.9 million new jobs. The U.S. economic recovery is continuing rapidly, and President Biden is on pace to create even more jobs than were lost during the pandemic.
To put this historic growth in context, the job gains during Biden’s first 14 months outpace those made in the same time period of the past four Republican presidents combined.
The 7.9 million jobs added during the past 14 months represent real people with real families who can now afford food and shelter. Behind the numbers is an economy that is growing, returning Americans to work, and putting money in peoples’ pockets.

- The U.S. Navy announced it will name a ship after the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The ship is a John Lewis-class replenishment oiler ship, a class of ship which is traditionally named for people who fought for civil and human rights.
- The House of Representatives has passed a bill to cap insulin costs at $35 per month, part of a wider agenda to lower health care costs for all Americans. The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration.
