Alia Hidayat is a senior policy analyst on the Conservation Policy team at American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, she worked on a broad energy and environment portfolio for Rep. Doris Matsui (D-CA) as a Knauss Policy Fellow. Hidayat holds a bachelor’s in biology from the University of Washington and a Ph.D. in environmental toxicology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Joint Program. Her previous research focused on the effects of harmful algae and the intersection of climate, oceans, and human health. She enjoys hiking, crafting, and cooking and sharing meals with friends.
