Haya Akbik is the executive affairs coordinator at American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, she worked on the 2020 campaigns of Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) and Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA). Her work also included projects to further advocacy and justice for Syrians affected by the ongoing conflict. She earned degrees in political science and international studies from the University of Michigan. She spends her free time scouring record stores to complete her Frank Sinatra record collection and working out on her beloved Peloton bike.
