Mariel Lutz is a research associate on the Conservation Policy team in the Energy and Environment department at American Progress. She has worked on state policy at Missouri Coalition for the Environment and on federal policy at the Sierra Club, and she has done fieldwork as an AmeriCorps member in Iowa. She studied environmental biology at Washington University in St. Louis, and she is from Massachusetts.
