Mehg Sobel is the vice president for Individual Giving at American Progress. Before joining, Sobel was the director of Development, East at the Obama Foundation, leading a team of fundraisers over the past five years to raise upward of $50 million annually to support the future Obama Presidential Center. Prior to the Obama Foundation, Sobel served as an associate director of development at Georgetown Law, focused on parent engagement and scholarship support for high-merit, high-need students. Previously, Sobel was a development officer at the Clinton Foundation, where she helped launch its signature annual giving program. Sobel began her career at the Brookings Institution, where she supported the Second Century Campaign, marking the largest fundraising campaign in think tank history with a goal of $600 million. When she’s not working, Sobel can be found running long distances and traipsing around D.C. with her dog, Blue.
