Nicole Alvarez is a senior policy analyst for Technology Policy at American Progress. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Technology Policy team from her previous role at the Future of Privacy Forum. There, she dedicated her efforts to analyzing the legal and ethical aspects of data collection. Passionate about safeguarding human rights, Alvarez worked to promote principled data practices, balancing the demands of technology with the imperative of privacy. She holds a Juris Doctor from Pennsylvania State’s Dickinson Law and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Penn State University. Outside the office, Alvarez enjoys building her own mechanical keyboards and staying active through Pilates and hiking.
