Tina Tang is the director of content strategy on the Digital Advocacy team at American Progress. A digital communications professional and a first-generation Asian American immigrant, fighting for progressive policies is not just a passion, but a part of Tang’s identity. Prior to joining American Progress, she was active in political campaigns, including Biden for President’s Vote-by-Mail team in the unprecedented 2020 elections and Virginia’s coordinated campaign in 2021. She also brings with her experience working as a digital communications consultant for national advocacy organizations, as well as political campaigns and elected representatives.
Tang is also the co-founder of a nonprofit, Debtless, with a mission to disrupt the predatory debt industry through debt cancellation and financial education. So far in 2023, Debtless has canceled more than $13 million of predatory debt.
A Floridian who considers herself a New Yorker, with a neuroscience degree from New York University, Tang conducted Alzheimer’s research before making the pivot into progressive politics. A very involved dog (hi Ellie!) and plant mom, great food is her ultimate love language.
