EVENT ADVISORY: 2024 Global Progress Action Summit to Convene in Montréal

Montréal — Global progressive political leaders, policy experts, strategists, and changemakers from more than 15 countries will be coming together for the 2024 Global Progress Action Summit in Montréal to discuss and collaborate on bold new ideas and directions in progressive governance.

Hosted by Canada 2020 and the Center for American Progress Action Fund this Saturday, September 21, the summit convenes global progressive policy leaders from within governments, think tanks, and civil society organizations for unique high-level discussions and to share perspectives on how to address the most challenging policy issues facing our fast-changing world, including economic growth for all, creating good jobs as we fight climate change, protecting democracy and global security, and much more.

“In the face of antidemocratic efforts—from Project 2025 in the United States to far-right movements in France and Germany and election integrity in Venezuela—this moment calls on policy leaders not to give into fear and fascism but to press forward with a vision that understands we have the collective power to create a better future,” said Patrick Gaspard, president and CEO of CAP Action.

“Nearly half of the world’s population lives in a country with a national election in 2024—keeping progress and democracy front of mind for all of us,” said Braeden Caley, president and CEO of Canada 2020. “Whether building a bulwark against authoritarianism or delivering economic and social policies that work for everyone, this summit is an essential gathering for the global progressive movement to ensure we can keep delivering results on our shared values.”
