Washington, D.C. — On Thursday, October 1, 2020, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), and Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) will join the Center for American Progress Action Fund for a press call to discuss the findings of a new report revealing the innumerable ways repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA) during the COVID-19 pandemic would sow chaos across America. The report looks specifically at how eliminating the ACA would threaten public safety, prolong the economic crisis, and exacerbate racial and gender inequality.
The report comes as Senate Republicans are rushing to confirm a new justice to the U.S. Supreme Court to rubber-stamp President Donald Trump’s agenda, including the administration’s health care repeal lawsuit, which will be heard just one week after the election.
