Washington, D.C. – Tonight, during the first presidential debate, Republican nominee Donald Trump doubled down on his flawed economic policy for America.
Angela Kelley, the Executive Director of the Center for American Progress Action Fund issued the following statement:
Since the launch of his presidential campaign, Donald Trump has pushed narratives that have been factually incorrect. Tonight, he said that he rooted for the housing crisis because “that’s called business.” Not only is this wrong, it shows that Trump still refuses to develop policies based in fact and real progress.
A Donald Trump presidency will reverse this trend and it will lead to a reduction of 3 million jobs for Americans and cut taxes on the nation’s wealthiest by $5.9 trillion. If he were to run the country like his multiple failed businesses, we wouldn’t be able to afford a Trump administration.
Trump is saying “believe me” to some of the same working families that have already been victimized by Trump’s scams and broken promises.
